The Palm, Jebel Ali
The Palm involves the creation of two of the world's largest man-made islands known as The Palm, Jumeirah and The Palm, Jebel Ali. Located just off the coast of the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the two palm tree shaped islands are expected to contribute to the city's position as a premier tourist destination. The project will increase Dubai's shoreline by a total of 120 km and create a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment opportunities, all within a unique and inspiring setting.
Comprised of approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand, the islands will eventually support 50 luxury hotels, 2,500 exclusive residential beachside villas, 2,400 shoreline apartments, two marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls, sports facilities, health spas and cinemas.

Construction for the 2nd Palm Island is now being carried out off the coast of Jebel Ali.
This multi-billion dollar project which will be 50 percent larger than The Palm, Jumeirah. Bigger than Palm Jumeirah, The Palm, Jebel Ali is more of an entertainment destination for adults and children alike. Located on the Jebel Ali coastal area of Dubai, Palm, Jebel Ali consists of a trunk, a crown with 17 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island forming a water-breaker. Catering to residents and tourists, Palm Jebel Ali includes six marinas, a 'Sea Village', a water theme park and luxury water homes. Expected to be completed in late 2008 the most amazing feature of the Palm Jebel Ali is the boardwalks which circle the 'fronds' of the palm and spells out a verse in Arabic that reads:
Location
The Palm Jebel Ali is located off the coast of Dubai and are 22 kilometers apart. It is in close proximity to leading five-star hotels and resorts, the Dubai Marina, Dubai Internet and Media City and the Jebel Ali Free zone. This area is part of the new growth sector of the city, featuring high tech firms in addition to corporate offices of multinationals. Beach resorts and iconic hotels such as the Madinat Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab are also in the vicinity.
The Crescent
The Crescent is 15.5 kilometres long and surrounds the island, acting as a breakwater. This breakwater has been designed by international specialists and is able to withstand a four-metre wave. The Crescent on Palm Jebel Ali will be home to several marinas and shoreline apartments. Further developments on the crescent are expected to be announced over the coming months.
The Crown
The Crown of the Palm consists of seventeen fronds. Sixteen of the fronds will provide residents a fabulous beachfront home in private surroundings. Buyers can choose from a wide range of different styled themed properties, ensuring that this is truly their dream home.
